Hillingdon Swimming Club in North West London is seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious and passionate Coach to join our coaching team as we continue building for the future. We are one of the top performing Clubs in Middlesex County and the London Region with a record of producing multiple national level athletes and also athletes placed on Junior and National Teams. 

We require a suitably qualified, highly motivated and committed individual to join us with a demonstrable and impressive CV in competitive swimming coaching.

The job holder will work with the Head of Development and Head of Performance developing swimmers to County, Regional and National levels ensuring there is a high-quality training environment for each swimmer to reach their potential. 

Duties will include:

  • Assisting and supporting the Head of Development with the training programme for the 200 age group and youth swimmers in the Development Squads
  • Plan and deliver sessions for the Squads within the framework set by the Head of Performance or Head of Development that centre on meeting the needs of athletes with a view to reaching their full senior potential.
  • Take responsibility for the development of swimmers within a squad (or squads) ensuring the coaching programme is followed and that there is a consistent approach to technical standards by having a passion for focusing on technique and skills to prepare athletes for progressive levels of competition.
  • Support Club Development by undertaking planning and other duties allocated by the Head of Development
  • Actively contribute to a club environment that promotes enjoyment of the sport while maintaining the focus on success.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced coaches to enable their progression.
  • Assist the Head of Performance and Head of Development in identifying suitable Meets for all swimmers to ensure a yearly programme is produced including team competitions and assist with team selections.
  • Support and develop the use of social media to promote Hillingdon Swimming Club.

 

Our role offers flexibility on the regular hours worked to enable combining swimming coaching with other work/family commitments to include weekday evening and weekend sessions.

The Club will provide opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD) and will support candidates in obtaining the RLSS National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC).

Applications from candidates seeking part-time hours will also be considered as will applications from candidates with an Assistant Coach Certificate or Level 2 Teaching Aquatics with a willingness to obtain the Level 2 Swimming Coach Certificate within 6 months of appointment.
